Theory

a) definition
sentence: oral or written combination capable of representing the complete statement of an idea (Dictionnaire Le Robert, 2022)

b) 4 types of sentences
1. declarative sentences

ends with a dot

Tu es le fromage de mes macaronis.
You’re the cheese to my macaroni.

2. negative sentences

ends with a dot

Vivre sans aimer n’est pas proprement vivre.
Living without loving is not truly living.

3. interrogative sentences
ends with a question mark

Si tu avais un lapin tout doux, tu l’appellerais comment ?

If you had a fluffy bunny, what would you name it?

4. exclamative sentences

used to express an emotion / command / wish / advice and ends with an exclamation point

Félicitations !
Congratulations!
 Commettons le crime parfait : je vole ton cœur, et tu voles le mien !
Let’s commit the perfect crime : I’ll steal your heart, and you steal mine !
