in the first group, there are more than 6,000 verbs, namely those ending in –ER (except for the verb “aller”)

in the second group, there are approximately 300 verbs, and they end in –IR and their present participle ends in –ISSANT

the third group encompasses four subcategories :
-IR, -OIR, -RE verbs as well as the verb “aller”
group 3 verbs : dire, percevoir, prendre, attendre …

“to be” and “to have” are auxiliary verbs in French and do not belong to any of the aforementioned categories
